Installation is very easy. Took me about 2 hours to get everything installed and programmed (I had a garage controller add on and that took the longest). The package I got also had a flood sensor. The security company uses alarm.com (much better than total connect – honeywell lyric uses this) and you will have a local centralized monitoring station. The panel itself comes with a cellular module installed and all communication is over cellular. Make sure you have good cell reception in your location and pick the appropriate provider.
While the upfront cost is high the monthly fees are much lower than what you would be paying if you went though ADT/Vivint/Frontpoint. I pay $35 right now and have the option to add video monitoring for $5. The companies I mentioned earlier start closer to $60 for similar functionality. In the long term the cost savings are much higher going this route and you also have the flexibility of using a different monitoring service if you aren’t satisfied.
The design is great. Looks very modern and the touch screen is very responsive. All in all a great system. Price was not too high and the fact that you can use it as a z-wave hub as well as you main security panel is great. I paired a yale z-wave lock and plan on adding lighting and thermostats to it eventually.

This panel worked perfectly! It did require a few updates, but we’ll worth the investment! The compatibility with so many devices is one of the many brilliant things that this hub provides. Coupled with Alarm.com for all of the rules management, this is what makes my home super smart!!!

Provider – My system came from livewatch (now Brinks) but they were pretty bad as a service provider so now I’m with Surety! That’s the nice thing about these panels! They aren’t locked to a company! They work with anyone that works with alarm dot com
1.) Supports a large range of sensors and thermostats, not just those made my the panel company
2.) Easy to install and can double as a photo frame
3.) If the panel is smashed it will still call for help and dial out! It basically sends the call instantly to the cloud and if not disarmed or if the cloud determines the panel is now unreachable it will push the call through
4.) Quality is excellent!
